Ace might not be front and center of every GI Joe pin-up but he's an essential part of the group and just about everyone knows him! Ace is the pilot of the GI Joe Sky Striker and has shot down more Cobras than anyone! Sure, he's been shot down a few times, too but that's just the cost of doing business, right?
Yo Joe June, Day 15, Ace by Ryan Kelly!
This artwork by Ryan Kelly is probably the coolest piece of artwork there is of Ace! Heroic pose in the cockpit of his fighter! Sky Strikers flying by overhead! All that's missing is a patriotic song or even "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins!
Ace was in the cartoon a lot, even thought every single character fly a Sky Striker! And he showed up in many panels of GI Joe but I think his dogfight with Wild Weasel in GI Joe issue 34 was his biggest moment! What an outstanding issue!
Ryan Kelly is a top-notch artist whose work really stands out. He's a fan of GI Joe, which definitely comes across in his work! Ace doesn't have the most specific of uniforms but in this commission by Ryan, not only do you know this is Ace, this is how everyone else should be drawing him!
